I decided to go out and check the water runs to see how much
water our
land had from the spring thaw. So who should I take?? I just want
a nice
quiet ride and need to work the mares a bit so I decided to take
out
Velvet, my nice quiet kids mare.
So saddle up and away I go, well Velvet forgot she is a nice
quiet
mare! She was so bouncy and snapping those knees up and snorting
at
everything. Good thing I decided to go by myself and not take one
of my
kids along. She plowed through the muck and just wanted to go go
go!.
So much for my nice relaxing ride. Well we managed to stay
together for
the entire time (for which I am very thankful, as there was a lot
of muck
out there) and when we come back to the yard and she is still
just
bouncing and wanting to go. I was wondering if I have been
feeding her
too much oats, or maybe someone switched mares on me??.
My little rug rats are screaming and yelling to go for a ride so I
though well I guess I could just lead her around in the round corral
and I won't let my 2 year old ride just Spencer (my 7 year old)
'cause I know she can hang on better.
Put up Spencer and bingo! My nice quiet kids horse was back. She
just
plodded around the pen as if she didn't have a care in the world.
No
bouncing, no snorting just half asleep as usual.
So I pop up my 2 year old and both of them are wandering around
the
pen. Velvet wouldn't move unless I walked in front so around and
around
I went and she just stayed right with me with her nose on my arm.
Every
now and then she would nudge me and I swear she was laughing at
me.
What a gal!
